The Short Story…
For sixteen years, Café Paradiso, owner Steve Giacomini, and Tim Britton have donated their resources in service to a steady stream of extraordinary local and internationally acclaimed talent, establishing a reputation as one of the finest listening rooms in the country, despite turnouts that are higher on quality than quantity. Indeed, it is this intimacy that makes the café a dream for both performer and audience. In addition to weekly world-class concerts, Paradiso hosts a free open mic every Wednesday, providing a vibrant forum for stunningly unique community sharing, drawing participants for hundreds of miles.
A labor of love, ticket sales don’t come close to covering the costs, while the artists generously accept far less than they deserve. Enter Fairfield Muse, a new non-profit, responsible for sustainably and affordably offering superlative music in a warm atmosphere with pristine sound. The initial annual budget of $50k will cover the infrastructure, allowing more money for the performers, while raising the ceiling on the quality of acts. Additional funds will go to create and market videos of the concerts, further promoting the artists, as well as Fairfield. They also plan to offer much needed career management and funding of recordings for local musicians.
Tax deductible checks can be made out to Fairfield Muse and mailed or dropped off to Café Paradiso, 101 N. Main St.. Donations can also be accepted on this site. Single payments or monthly auto-pay options are available. Any amount is welcome and perks are available for various levels of donors. Donors will be acknowledged on this site unless requested otherwise. Please generously support Fairfield’s cultural hub, and come enjoy the shows!
